Quite outside my usual price range, I was lucky enough to visit Marco Pierre White's for my graduation meal. As expected, the food was absolutely incredible; the most amazing fillet steak I've ever had. Not only this, though, but the service was wonderful. Having mentioned in passing that it was a graduation meal, we were not expecting the table to be decorated with a balloon and confetti, and even for my desert to be personalised and decorated!
Despite its obvious popularity, the restaurant was full but not crowded, having a sophisticated feel at all times. The waiters took time to chat, and tell us about Marco Pierre White - even generously giving him a signed book! Sometimes he visits the restaurant, so it's worth looking up these dates if you're thinking of going.
The dishes were all beautiful, flavoursome, and cooked to perfection. There was even the novelty of picking our own steak-knife from a large assortment! For a special occasion, it is a really unique restaurant to visit, and the evening was certainly made memorable by both the food and service, which exceeded its reputation.
