A casual brunch and catch up calls for a visit to the Warsaw Diner. If you enjoy a good breakfast (although most students only make it to an afternoon brunch, which might as well be lunch), then rest assured that this diner will fill you up with hearty portions of good food.
In the combined style of an American/Polish diner, Warsaw Diner’s menu offers several combinations of breakfast. I’d definitely recommend ordering pancakes and syrup with whatever other options you feel like, and combining all of your favourite items on the menu. The waiters are often very happy to substitute options of each breakfast, which makes it easy to tailor your meal to suit your preferences.

Initially, I was suspicious of the maple syrup. I’d previously enjoyed it with bacon, but sausages too, really? I adhered to my boyfriend’s recommendations, however, and tried adding a small amount of the provided syrup to almost everything on my plate. It was delicious, surprisingly so! Not something I’d eat every day, primarily due to the dangers of consuming such quantities of syrup, but definitely yummy as a treat.
If you don't feel like eating a fry up with an overwhelming amount of sausages (portion sizes are good), then there are healthier options for you. Fruit is served decoratively with pancakes, and looks a lot prettier than a plate of scrambled eggs. I’ve been told it tastes great, but I wasn’t able to turn down the unhealthy, although less aesthetically pleasing, option.
Food at Warsaw Diner is well-priced, and you are given plenty of food for your money. I was left feeling very full for the rest of the day! The location is great for students living in Lenton, and not too far from the city centre. Be warned that weekends can be very busy, and it is sometimes difficult to find a seat. The Diner’s exterior is its least appetising aspect, with fairly unappealing surroundings, but the food and service certainly compensate for this, making it a very popular brunch destination.
Best: generous portions.
Worst: exterior design.
